This child is intense.
The internet consumes my time and throughout the course of the week, I aggregate a bunch of links that I want to archive for the future. Sometimes, if I come across them via Google Reader, I would remember to share it - http://www.google.ca/reader/shared/maggielin.is but a lot of the times, I forget to or I didn’t get the site through Reader. Instead of starting a Tumblr, I figured I should just do a link dump on weekends! So, here we go with this weekend’s theme of Childhood.
The Baby Sitters’ Club: Where Are They Now?
A humorous and insightful account of what “the original founding members (none of this Abby bullshit)” would be up to now. Mary Anne Spier was my favourite and while I’m happy that she and Logan didn’t end up together (whoops, spoiler!), I was devastated to find out that “Mary Anne does not know how to use the Internet”.
Barbie – The Final Chapter
The photography portfolio of Mariel Clayton. I couldn’t stop looking at all of them – the photos are grotesque, but you really have to admire all the thoughtfulness, detail and planning that goes into every scene.
Just a heads up: this is NSFW for dolls and lots of Barbies and Kens were hurt and decapitated for this.

None of these guys look like Ken. Seriously.
I don’t watch reality shows, unless they’re on the Food Network, so I’m not sure if this one is popular or not. Based on the trailer and some youtube clips I found, I do know that this is a super low budget affair. Whitney Port hosts this “reality” show, where a bunch of guys vie to be
The Great American Boyfriend. Their words, not mine. So on
“Genuine Ken”, these Ken-testants go through challenges that apparently show off their boyfriend-ability and at the end of every show, Whitney will hand out… baby blue paper wrist bands with a giant Ken label on it. The loser would not get a wrist band… the loser doesn’t? Really?

In the show, the guys want to get one of these wristbands.
I could go on commenting on this show, but I don’t want to grow an ulcer just thinking of the absurdity of this. So I’ll just say – this is a new show, where a bunch of macho, steroid upped guys compete shamelessly to be crowned a male fashion doll. Folks on the Jersey Shore laugh at you. Your parents would be so proud.
If you haven’t been reading Allie’s blog, you should be! She makes Microsoft paint cool again!
With a blog header like that, you know she must be awesome. AWESOME.
